Overview
Business Application Analyst II - IS Business Apps - Full Time 8 Hour Days (Non-Exempt) (Non-Union) at USC CERPP (Center for Enrollment Research, Policy and Practice).
Under minimal supervision and guidance, the Business Application Analyst II will work with external vendors, system owners, community partners, contractors, and Keck Medicine leadership to design, develop, implement and operate Business Application information systems, including but not limited to : Lawson Financials (Fin), Lawson Supply Chain (SCM), Kronos Timekeeping and Scheduling, Kronos Extensions (Optilink), Kaufman Hall Budgeting and Planning, and Strata Decision Support Solution (DSS). The incumbent will identify and document design specifications based on analysis / assessment of user needs and generate need-gap analyses. This role involves configuring system scope and objectives, evaluating existing or proposed systems, and devising procedures to solve problems using data processing. The analyst acts as an application administrator by ensuring data integrity, maintaining system security, extracting, analyzing and transforming data, facilitating user / vendor communication, and managing software upgrades, implementations and / or conversions. The role focuses on direct customer services while participating in project activities and develops reports using SQL, QlikView, Lawson BI, Infor BI, and Kronos Genies. The position works independently on system activities and project management tasks.
Responsibilities
- Customer Service : Address customer questions, concerns, enhancement requests, communicate with customers, handle service problems and tickets, and maintain a professional image for internal department users, vendors, and IS peers.
- Solution Design and Development : Analyze events, documentation, requirements, and needs to design and develop solutions; help formulate scope and objectives; propose solutions to department leaders.
- Performance Improvement / Transformation / Innovation : Participate in performance improvement activities, pursue business transformation, and act as a subject matter expert for department functions related to implemented systems.
- Technical Skills and Industry Knowledge : Participate in system activities (project and operational), understand application build and technical infrastructure, stay current on practices and standards (ITIL), and knowledge of industry best practices and technologies.
- Team Work and Project Management : Assist in establishing project goals, milestones, and procedures; monitor progress; manage multiple projects; lead own work efforts and ensure on-time, on-budget delivery.
- Reports & Analytics : Generate standard and ad hoc reports; assist in developing non-standard / custom reports as required.
- Training : Train new staff on applicable systems / applications and collaborate with customers / vendors on training for new systems.
- Other Duties and On-Call : Fulfill on-call requirements and other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Business, Science OR equivalent work experience.3 years relevant experience. If no Bachelor's degree, minimum 7 years of relevant experience.2 years experience in IS healthcare setting.Good organizational skills with ability to prioritize multiple activities in a rapidly changing environment.Strong customer service focus.Proficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).Demonstrate excellent customer service behavior.Excellent analytical, problem-solving, planning and evaluation skills.Excellent verbal and written communication skills.Ability to function independently and as a member of a team.Preferred Qualifications
Familiarity with Kronos, Lawson, Oracle, PeopleSoft, Finance and / or Procurement / Supply chain experience, and / or Human Capital Management and / or Payroll processing.Required Licenses / Certifications
Fire Life Safety Training (LA City). If no card upon hire, obtain within 30 days and maintain renewal before expiration date (required within LA City only).The hourly rate range for this position is $39.00 - $63.95.
