Amiano & Son is a full-service design–build remodeling company known for thoughtful design, detailed craftsmanship, and a collaborative approach. Our projects range from kitchen and bath remodels to whole-home renovations. We’re seeking a motivated, detail-oriented Design Assistant to join our design team and help bring our client projects to life.
Position Overview
The Design Assistant supports the design and production teams through accurate documentation, efficient cabinetry layouts, and project preparation. This role requires strong technical ability, organization, and coordination skills. The ideal candidate has experience working with architectural drawings, cabinetry design, and trade coordination.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct on-site measurements and document existing conditions accurately.
- Build and modify floor plans, elevations, and 3D renderings in Chief Architect (training available).
- Create and optimize cabinetry layouts for kitchens, baths, etc. with attention to detail and implementation accuracy.
- Prepare cabinetry quotes , material takeoffs, and vendor purchase sheets.
- Collaborate with the design and construction teams to ensure projects are ready for construction , including reviewing architectural plans and coordinating with trades.
- Review and interpret architectural drawings and work alongside architects, engineers, and field personnel to maintain design intent.
- Maintain organized, up-to-date project files, drawings, and documentation.
Qualifications
Degree or current enrollment in Interior Design, Architecture, or Drafting .Proficiency or strong interest in Chief Architect , AutoCAD, or similar design software.Experience in cabinetry design, quoting, and layout implementation preferred.Familiarity with architectural plan review and construction documentation.Excellent communication and organizational skills.Ability to work collaboratively with designers, trades, and project managers.Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation for site visits.Previous experience in the field is preferred but not required.What We Offer
