Accounts Receivable Clerk
We are looking for a dedicated and organized Accounts Receivable Clerk to join our team in Walnut Creek, California. This Contract-to-Permanent position offers the opportunity to play a key role in managing customer payments, maintaining accurate financial records, and contributing to office operations. The ideal candidate will have a strong attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and the ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently.
Responsibilities :
Process and record customer payments in the accounting system, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
Monitor transactions across multiple bank accounts and maintain detailed records.
Scan and deposit checks electronically, with occasional trips to the bank for physical deposits.
Reconcile payment batches to ensure account accuracy and resolve discrepancies.
Distribute monthly account statements and follow up on overdue balances with professionalism.
Communicate effectively with customers to address payment inquiries or account concerns.
Assist with bank reconciliations and support year-end accounting close processes.
Organize and maintain both digital and physical files related to financial and property records.
Provide general office support, including ordering supplies, filing, and assisting during audits or budget preparation.
Requirements :
Proven experience in accounts receivable or a similar financial role.
Familiarity with collections and cash application processes.
Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Excellent communication skills for interacting with customers and internal teams.
Ability to handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines effectively.
Knowledge of billing functions and cash collection procedures.
Understanding of standard accounting practices and reconciliation processes.
