The Staff Accountant will be responsible for a range of accounting functions in support of the overall financial operations of the winery. The ideal candidate will have at least 3 years demonstrated proficiency in Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Prepaids / Accruals, Reconciliations, and general accounting tasks. Reporting to the Controller, this role will be critical in maintaining accurate financial records and ensure compliance with accounting standards.
Accounts Payable & Accounts Receivable
- Receive, verify and process vendor invoices; match with P.O's and appropriate documentation
- Maintain vendor files and relationships; reconcile vendor statements and resolve discrepancies
- Prepare and process expense reports, month-end related tasks and year end 1099 reporting
- Generate invoices for customer accounts (export, bulk), reconcile and maintain AR subledger to GL
- Monitor and follow up on overdue accounts
General Accounting Functions :
Process employee expense reimbursements; reconcile assigned company credit cards, ensuring proper documentationReconcile daily and monthly bank activity across multiple accountsPerform assigned balance sheet account reconciliations; investigate and resolve discrepanciesManage prepaid expenses; record and track accruals for expenses incurredSupport month-end and year-end close processesParticipate in annual audit preparation and provide necessary documentation to auditorsMaintain and update accounting policies and proceduresQualifications :
Bachelor's Degree Accounting, Finance or related field3-5 years accounting experience with increasing responsibilityWinery accounting experience highly preferredStrong systems knowledge, working experience with winery accounting / ERP systems highly preferred; strong MS Excel skills required
