Contract Litigation Paralegal - Funds (Remote)

Davis Wright Tremaine LLP is seeking an experienced paralegal for engagement through the firm's alternative-track contract attorney and staffing program, DWTSurge. The selected paralegal will work with the firm's Litigation practice to support the firm's large technology client with high volume finance matters. The selected paralegal may work remotely but should be prepared to support West Coast business hours.

This contract position will assist the firm's attorneys and the marquee client's funds team by handling a large volume of garnishments, levies, and lien responses. Key responsibilities include reviewing garnishment summons, evaluating liens, monitoring payment obligations, drafting responses, and taking appropriate actions using client tools. Additionally, the chosen paralegal will oversee projects by tracking deadlines, summarizing agreements or data, conducting due diligence reviews, and creating and maintaining document storage sites.

The selected paralegal should be highly skilled in technology, detail-orientated, able to exercise sound judgment and possess strong administrative, organizational and interpersonal skills while prioritizing and managing multiple assignments. Candidates with experience supporting finance or technology clients are encouraged to apply.

This contract position offers the flexibility of remote work and expected full time hours, averaging 37.5 hours per week. While the engagement is for an initial 6-month contract term, there is a strong possibility of renewal of the contract position for successful candidates. We are looking for paralegals interested in establishing a long-term working relationship with DWT on an exclusive basis.

The ideal candidate will have :

• 4+ years of paralegal experience at a mid-sized or large law firm and / or with large institutional clients specializing in finance or technology.
• Bachelor's degree and completion of paralegal program of study, or clear demonstration of equivalent knowledge and skill in accordance with state requirements.
• Demonstrated experience and understanding of writs of garnishment, levies, and liens.
• A strong interest in working with global technology clients.
• Advanced proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, and Outlook) for the creation and editing of documents, spreadsheets, and email.
• Proficiency in the use of electronic signature applications (e.g. DocuSign) and document retention databases (e.g. Google Docs, Dropbox and other proprietary virtual data rooms).
• Residency in one of the following states : AK, AZ, CA, CT, FL, GA, IN, KS, MD, MN, MT, NJ, NM, NY, OK, OR, PA, TN, TX, VA, WA, and WDC.
• Ability to quickly adapt to new technologies and methods of client communication as needed.
• Ability to understand and follow work directions, make discretionary decisions, manage multiple priorities and respond to urgent requests with minimal supervision.
• Availability to work remotely, full time hours, 37.5 hours / week, and support PST business hours.
• Excellent proactive communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to maintain effective working relationships and communicate verbally and in writing, with clients, firm members, and other business contacts.
• Exceptional client service skills, as well as the ability to handle stressful situations in a calm, composed manner.
• Excellent writing skills, strong attention to detail and strong time and task management skills, and ability to produce high quality work product with minimal supervision and direction.

Please note that this is a temporary contract position managed by DWT's flexible contract attorney program, DWTSurge. Compensation will be paid on an hourly basis, commensurate with experience and skill level (see below). This role is eligible for benefits. Salary Range

The hourly compensation range for this position in CA, MD, MN, NY, OR, WA, and WDC is $30-45 per hour. Actual pay will be adjusted based on the candidate's education, training, experience and other job-related factors permitted by law.
