Automation / Controls Technician
The Automation Technician will play a crucial role in assembling high-quality industrial equipment and machinery, with a strong focus on electrical controls, hydraulics, pneumatics, and mechanical assembly. This position requires a detailed-oriented individual who excels in a fast-paced environment and is committed to producing top-notch work. Dependent on experience, additional duties may include detailing electrical designs and putting together Release Packages under the direction of an Electrical Engineer. Participates in the completion of panel designs, builds and implementation.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities :
- Assemble components and systems for industrial machinery, focusing on hydraulic and pneumatic circuits, mechanical parts, and electrical controls.
- Read and interpret blueprints, diagrams, and schematics to ensure accurate assembly of all components.
- Install and configure hydraulic and pneumatic systems, ensuring operational efficiency and reliability.
- Perform electrical wiring and assembly of control panels, including routing, bundling, and connecting wires according to specifications.
- Conduct functional testing of assembled systems to identify and correct any issues.
- Collaborate with engineering and design teams to address and resolve challenges.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, adhering to safety standards and best practices.
- Document assembly processes and report on progress, issues, and outcomes.
- Continuously update knowledge and skills related to hydraulics, pneumatics, mechanical assembly, and electrical controls to stay abreast of industry advancements.
- QC checks
- Modify prints as required using AutoCad
- Edit Codes for onsite troubleshooting
- Overnight travel for field support is required in this position.
Skills & Qualifications :
Technical certification or degree in mechanical, electrical, or industrial engineering is strongly preferred, or equivalent experience.PLC programming, C++, and AutoCad experience highly preferred.Strong understanding of electrical circuits and designProven experience as an Assembly Technician with a focus on hydraulics, pneumatics, mechanical assembly, and electrical controls. Control Panel building experience preferred.Proficient in reading and interpreting technical documents, blueprints, and schematics.Hands-on experience with reading electrical schematics, control panel assembly, and electrical integration.Familiarity with industry standards and safety protocols related to machinery assembly.Excellent mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.Strong communication and documentation skills.Physical ability to handle heavy components and stand for extended periods.Occasional travel to customer sites as needed for field service or installation
