STV currently has an opening in our Lawrenceville, NJ, Philadelphia, Douglassville, Harrisburg, or Pittsburgh PA office locations for a Civil / Water Resources Engineer in our Transportation and Infrastructure division. The successful candidate will be a seasoned, experienced professional with a full understanding of water resources tasks including drainage, erosion and sediment pollution control (ESPC), post construction stormwater management (PCSM), and hydrology / hydraulics engineering. They should be capable of designing conveyance systems and solving waterway and NPDES permitting challenges for bridge and highway projects. Responsibilities include storm sewer and channel design, hydrologic studies, hydraulic modeling, scour analysis, technical writing, and waterway and NPDES permitting.
Responsibilities :
- Delivering conveyance, ESPC, and PCSM calculations and plans, NPDES permits, and waterway permits to relevant agencies.
- Serving as a task leader for drainage, ESPC, PCSM, hydraulic and hydrology, and waterway permitting activities across Pennsylvania and New Jersey.
- Designing H&H and waterway permits for various transportation projects.
- Storm sewer system design using NJDOT and PennDOT practices.
- ESPC staging, detailing, grading designs, BMP calculations, and related drawings and narratives.
- Performing PCSM volume, rate, water quality analyses, and related designs.
- Sealing engineer for reports and plans, ensuring quality control.
- Managing multiple projects, integrating into delivery teams, and mentoring staff.
- Performing hydrologic, hydraulic, scour evaluations, and drainage analyses.
- Working with alternative delivery methods such as design / build.
Required Skills :
Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering (MS a plus) with at least 8 years of experience.PA and / or NJ Professional Engineering License.Experience with hydrology and hydraulics software such as HEC-RAS, FHWA HY-8, Watershed Modeling System, MicroStation, Bentley InRoads, HydroCAD, Pondpack, etc.Preferred experience with PennDOT, NJDOT, and NJ Turnpike.Knowledge of PADEP & NJDEP Stormwater Rules, BMP Manual, permitting requirements, and related regulations.Strong communication skills.We encourage candidates who meet most but not all requirements to apply, emphasizing our commitment to diversity and inclusion.
