Responsibilities
- The Product Development Coordinator will work with partners in Design, Fabric R&D, Technical Design, Merchandising and Production to understand, interpret and execute key seasonal developments that meet aesthetic requirements and align with sourcing strategy, cost targets, quality and testing standards.
- Learn and support all aspects of fabric and garment manufacturing.
- Organize, manage and communicate effectively to maintain strong relationships with internal partners and external suppliers.
- Lead and own product development of assigned apparel product categories.
- Guide design on style development to meet intended aesthetic and support departmental financial objectives.
- Collaborate with Fabric R&D to guide new fabric development within the sourcing strategy.
- Partner with design and cross-functional teams on cost engineering for developed styles.
- Manage development allocations with suppliers in line with seasonal sourcing strategy.
- Initiate, request and manage all development samples to ensure on-time delivery.
- Act as liaison between Design, Fabric R&D and Suppliers to communicate standards and troubleshoot issues.
- Participate in Key Seasonal Milestone meetings with Design, Merchants, Fabric R&D and Production.
- Coordinate with cross-functional teams to address production, quality, and cost issues; maintain forward alignment.
- Manage daily communication with overseas suppliers and maintain vendor and factory relationships throughout the development cycle, including onboarding and feedback.
- Establish processes to ensure continuity and clarity.
- Participate in Go-To-Market milestone meetings and travel to New York or overseas as needed.
- Manage data entry and reporting to support seasonal sample development.
- Ensure on-time sample delivery for Seasonal Style Selection meetings.
Required Experience & Qualifications
Education : Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience.Experience : 3-5 years in product development or sourcing, preferably within an apparel retail organization.Critical Skills & Attributes
