Schedule : Part Time Days; Weekend Option (WEO) : Hours : 12 hour day shift on Saturdays and Sundays Position takes weekend patients and transplant call Qualifies for Weekend Option pay differential

Hospital : Ascension St. Vincent

Location : Indianapolis, IN

Coordinates pre-transplant and pre-VAD process for advanced heart failure therapies candidates. Collaborte and communicate with multidisiplinary team members, including physicials, program administration, RN coordinators, social workers and financial counselors. Provide patient and family education regarding the transplant and VAD process, expectations and care requirements; maintain accurate documentation, track referral & evaluation milestones and ensure compliance with regulatory and program standards.

Responsibilities

Coordinate nursing program activities and resources within clinical specialty or department.

Develop and oversee program, making recommendations and acting as a resource for all nursing staff related to patient care and clinical standards, policies and procedures. Develop and document care plans and therapy programs.

Oversee and ensure plan of care therapy program is implemented as indicated. Ensure necessary resources and / or equipment is obtained as ordered.

May supervise and direct nursing staff.

Coordinate, assemble, and maintain documentation as required.

Requirements

Licensure / Certification / Registration :

BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.

Registered Nurse credentialed from the Indiana Board of Nursing obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required.

Advanced Life Support preferred. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.

Education

Diploma from an accredited school / college of nursing OR required professional licensure at time of hire.

Additional Preferences

Current RN license; Two years of clinical experience in cardiology, advanced heart failure, or critical care; Strong clinical judgment with the ability to work independently and make autonomous decisions.

Exceptional communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
