Patient Care Technician (PCT)
The Patient Care Technician (PCT) provides care to patients under the direction of a physician or nursing staff.

- Complete timely and accurate documentation as per Health System / affiliate policy.
- Demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care to patients as described in unit / department-based competencies, policies, and procedures.
- Provide care as directed to achieve desired patient outcomes for patients newborn thru geriatric.
- Act in accordance with the established mission, vision, and values.
- Abide by the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability privacy and security regulations regarding all aspects of Protected Health Information (PHI).
- Maintain effective communication and professional working relationships with patients / clients and their representatives, team members, contractors, physicians, peers, outside agencies, and the public.

Minimum Qualifications :
Required Education and Experience :
Certification as an MA, CNA, EMT, or HHA in the state of Kansas - including equivalent experience such as 1st trimester nursing school, etc.Required License / Certifications / Registrations :
Current BLS / CPR card from approved provider within 30 days of hire or by the end of orientation, whichever comes firstSuccessful completion of on the job training for sterile technique, maintenance of sterile field and instrument care / handling (Obstetrics and Surgery)Successful completion of on the job EKG and phlebotomy training (Emergency)Preferred Qualifications :
Preferred Education and Experience :
Previous exposure to a medical environment.Preferred License / Certifications / Registrations :
Certification as a MA, CNA, EMT, or HHA in the state of KansasPhlebotomy Technician PBT (ASCP)Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities :
Basic computer skills. Moderate computer skills required for Telesitter.Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively.Basic knowledge of medical terminology.Ability to remain calm in stressful situations.Possess compassionate and empathetic approach to patient care.Physical Requirements :
