Position Overview

Healing Massage is currently seeking a skilled and dedicated Part Time Licensed Massage Therapist to join our team as an independent contractor. This position is designed to help us meet the increased demand during our busy season, which runs from October through May. We are looking for a professional who can pick up open shifts as they become available, with the potential for this arrangement to become a permanent position for the right candidate.

This is an excellent opportunity for a massage therapist who values flexibility and independence while still being part of a reputable practice. You will have the autonomy to manage your own schedule within available shifts while benefiting from our established client base and professional environment.

Schedule and Availability

The available shifts include weeknights and weekends, providing flexibility for therapists who may have other commitments or prefer non-traditional working hours. Please note that exact shifts may vary from week to week based on client demand and studio needs. This variability is typical of our busy season and offers you the opportunity to work as much or as little as fits your personal and professional goals.

We are looking for someone who can be responsive to scheduling opportunities and who enjoys the dynamic nature of a thriving massage practice. The ability to adapt to changing schedules and pick up shifts on relatively short notice is highly valued.

Required Qualifications

Active Massage Therapy License : You must hold a current, valid massage therapy license in good standing as required by state regulations. You will be responsible for maintaining your licensure and providing proof of credentials.

Deep Tissue Experience : This position requires demonstrated experience and proficiency in deep tissue massage techniques. Our clientele specifically seeks therapeutic deep tissue work, and you should be comfortable performing this modality confidently and effectively. You should have a thorough understanding of muscle anatomy, common pain patterns, and appropriate pressure application for deep tissue work.

Professional Liability Insurance : As an independent contractor, you must carry your own professional liability insurance coverage.

Self-Leadership and Independence : Since this is an independent contractor position, we are seeking someone with a strong sense of self-leadership. You should be self-motivated, reliable, and able to manage your own professional responsibilities without constant supervision. This includes managing your time, maintaining professional standards, communicating effectively with both clients and studio management, and taking initiative in your professional development.
