About the role :
As the Database Administrator Team Supervisor, you will lead a team responsible for managing our SQL Server infrastructure while driving adoption of cloud and NoSQL technologies like Azure SQL, MongoDB, and Elasticsearch. This role blends technical expertise with leadership to ensure our database environments are high-performing, reliable and scalable.

What you'll be doing :
Lead and mentor a team of Database Administrators, promoting collaboration, accountability and continuous learningManage workload distribution, project assignments and performance evaluations to ensure team efficiencyProvide technical guidance and support career development for team membersOversee the administration of SQL Server environments, including installation, configuration, patching, backups and performance tuningDrive the team's expansion into cloud and NoSQL platforms such as MongoDB, Elasticsearch and Azure SQLEnsure high availability, disaster recovery and data integrity across all database systemsImplement and manage monitoring tools like Datadog and SolarWinds DPA to proactively identify and resolve performance issuesAnalyze system metrics and logs to optimize database performance and resource utilizationLead automation initiatives to streamline routine DBA tasks including backups, patching, monitoring and alertingDevelop and maintain scripts and tools using PowerShell, T-SQL or other technologies to improve operational efficiencyCollaborate with DevOps and engineering teams to integrate database automation into CI / CD pipelinesEnforce database security policies, access controls and compliance with internal and external regulationsPartner with InfoSec and DevOps teams to ensure secure and compliant database operationsWork closely with developers, infrastructure teams and business stakeholders to support data-driven initiativesCommunicate effectively across technical and non-technical audiences to align database strategies with business goalsWhat you need :
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or a related field5+ years of hands-on experience in SQL Server administration, with recent leadership responsibilitiesProficiency in emerging database technologies including MongoDB, Elasticsearch and Azure SQLExperience with database monitoring tools such as Datadog, SolarWinds DPA or relatedStrong understanding of database architecture, performance tuning and disaster recovery strategiesFamiliarity with automation and infrastructure tools such as Terraform, Ansible, GIT, PowerShell or KubernetesWillingness to provide after-hours emergency support or participate in scheduled maintenance as neededExperience with cloud-based SQL services such as Azure SQL Database or AWS RDS for SQL Server preferredExperience integrating database operations into DevOps workflows and CI / CD pipelines preferredWhere you'll be : 4289 Ivy Pointe Boulevard, Cincinnati, Ohio 45245
