Position Overview
Ensure guests receive high quality healthcare while staying at the Summit Bechtel Reserve.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with care for sick or injured campers and staff daily
- Respond to and / or assist with emergencies as they occur
- Assist with mental health first aid when necessary
- Assist with opening and closing procedures in the Summit Health Lodge
- On-Call Rotation
- Model the Scout Oath and Law in daily interactions while maintaining
- Maintain a clean, organized, inspected, neat, and safe work area
- Perform additional duties assigned by SBR leadership
- Abide by policies and procedures outlined in the SBR staff handbook
Qualifications
Minimum age : 18+Required : Emergency Medical Technician Certification and valid NREMT CertificationRequired : Able to obtain WV State EMT Certification (Provided)Required training : HazMat, Bloodborne Pathogens, Mass Casualty Incident (MCI)Preferred : Mental Health First Aid CertificationValid driver's license and ability to obtain Summit UTV and vehicle permit andComfortable using Microsoft Teams for daily work-related communicationWilling to become a registered Scouting America member (includes background screening)Physical & Practical Requirements
Ability to stand, walk, and hike up to 8 hours daily and ability to lift / move up to 100 poundsStamina to repeatedly lift, bend, and kneelComplete the Annual Health and Medical Record , including height / weight guidelinesHousing : 10'x12' platform tent in Staff Camp | Uniform : Summit Staff Uniform | Work Hours : 45- 55Desired Traits
