Cleaver Brooks is looking for a is looking for a Mechanical Designer to join our team in Milwaukee, WI. The Mechanical Designer is responsible for creating all documentation required to build new products as well as updating and maintaining drawings as determined by the Department. Will also integrate and standardize the new products in the company systems. Candidate must be able to read and create drawings, understand Bills of Materials and be able to determine what views and information is necessary to communicate with Plant Engineering and Manufacturing.

Job Location : Milwaukee, WI

Essential functions :

• Acquire necessary knowledge involved in the successful accomplishment of his / her duties.
• Support project engineers with the selection of standard OEM components, creation of fabrication and assembly drawings based off of accurate 3D models, maintain accurate product structures for new and existing products.
• Prepare complete, accurate sets of drawings including BOMs, technical layouts, multiple views, detail drawings and assembly drawings, cross-sectional and subassembly drawings.
• Create accurate 3D models, determine most appropriate views and prepare final drawings and supplementary information necessary to complete assignments.
• Utilize mathematical formulas to compute weights, load capacities, dimensions, quantities of material, etc.
• Interact with internal staff as well as vendors regarding technical issues pertaining to parts, design, usage, specifications, etc.
• Learn ERP system to accurately take out part numbers and load BOMs for production.
• Maintain an organized work flow so all required documentation is sent to other departments in an efficient manner.
• All other duties as assigned.
