SHINE Counselor

Overview

The City of Attleboro Council on Aging seeks a SHINE Counselor, who under the supervision of the Council on Aging Director and the Regional SHINE Director, provides on-site, in-home and telephone support to elders who may need assistance with accessing public benefits.

Responsibilities

• Assist elders (age 65+) in navigating their health insurance options.
• Assist elders (age 62-64) in understanding their health benefit options under the newly created Integrated Care Organizations (ICOs).
• Assist in completing forms for public benefits (i.e. : Medicare, food stamps, housing applications, fuel assistance, etc.).
• Complete client intake forms.
• Submit a monthly report in a timely manner.
• Report problems and / or concerns to the Council on Aging Director and / or COA Outreach / Case Managers.
• Perform related work as required.
