This position involves evaluating the control rod drive systems' response to various design and operational changes. This position involves evaluating the control rod drive systems' response to various design and operational changes. The components are typically modeled in ANSYS with time-based inputs to predict system responses. Evaluation techniques have been automated using scripting and other methods. All work complies with strict quality assurance practices.

Responsibilities

• Perform linear and non-linear dynamic structural evaluation to predict system responses and resulting loads for reactor systems and internal components.
• Create and evaluate analysis models using ANSYS, ANSYS APDL, and similar numerical simulation codes.
• Review archive records and assess the impact of design and operational changes on existing conclusions.
• Provide clear and complete analysis documentation in accordance with engineering procedures.
• Communicate effectively with leadership regarding the status of work activities.

Work Environment

Fully remote work environment with limited travel. The role supports R&D efforts for next-generation nuclear reactor technology. The candidate must be a proactive individual who takes ownership of their work and can drive tasks forward independently.

Job Type & Location

This is a long-term contract position based out of Wilmington, North Carolina.

Pay And Benefits

The pay range for this position is $75.00 - $90.00 / hr.
