Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Materials Manager to oversee the supply chain operations, ensuring efficient management of materials from procurement to inventory control. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in metals, machinery, or industrial manufacturing and a proven track record in logistics and demand planning, contributing to cost reduction and production efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee and manage the procurement of materials required for production while ensuring cost-effectiveness.
- Implement and maintain inventory control systems to optimize stock levels and reduce waste.
- Coordinate logistics to ensure timely delivery of materials to production sites.
- Analyze data to forecast demand and adjust procurement strategies accordingly.
- Lead production scheduling efforts to align material availability with manufacturing timelines.
- Identify opportunities for cost reduction and process improvement within the supply chain.
- Utilize Lean Manufacturing principles to streamline operations and reduce waste.
- Manage and develop a team of direct reports, providing guidance and support in achieving departmental goals.
- Utilize ERP systems, specifically Microsoft Dynamics 365, to manage inventory and procurement processes effectively.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.Minimum of 5 years of experience in materials management or supply chain roles within industrial manufacturing.Strong knowledge of inventory control, logistics, procurement, and demand planning.Proficiency in ERP systems, particularly Microsoft Dynamics 365, and data analysis tools.Experience with Lean Manufacturing methodologies and production scheduling practices.Excellent analytical and forecasting skills, with a solid understanding of metals and materials used in manufacturing.Strong leadership skills with experience managing direct reports.Benefits
