Job Description

American Traveler is seeking a Cath Lab Technologist with at least 1 year of experience and ARRT, BLS, and IEMA certifications for an acute care, Level 1 trauma setting.

Responsibilities

  • Work in a cardiac catheterization lab with 6 suites
  • Typical caseload is 10 to 15 cases per day
  • Patient population includes cardiac catheterization cases separate from IR and EP
  • Duties include scrubbing, monitoring hemodynamics, and circulating
  • Uses EPIC for EMR, with exposure to PACS and McKesson cardiology systems
  • 9-hour day shifts with rotating weekends and holidays
  • On-call rotation with 8-9 shifts per month with a 30-minute response time
  • No floating required
  • Primary charge nurse present from 6 : 00 AM to 3 : 30 PM
  • Orientation lasts 3 to 5 days
  • Techs are not required to float to other units
  • Cardiologist physicians are on call 24 / 7 for support
  • Call assignments and holiday coverage are scheduled on a rotational basis
  • Hospital provides scrubs
  • A mandatory call list is in place to ensure adequate shift coverage

    • Requirements

  • Minimum of 1 year recent cath lab experience required
  • Current ARRT, BLS, and IEMA certifications required
  • Active IL license or proof of application initiation required for consideration
  • Pediatric experience preferred but not required
  • Experience with EPIC EMR required; PACS and McKesson cardiology experience preferred
  • Must be able to pass a drug screening for all panels
  • License required if applicable
