Machine Operator

Temp to hire

1st Shift ( 5 : 00am – 3 : 30pm)

$16.00 / hr

Job Description

Operates manual machines such as Drill Press, Band saw, Radial Drill, Belt sander, Manual Mill and relate equipment.

Job Responsibilities

  • Perform manual machine operations or any other task assigned to produce quality parts that meets all print requirements
  • Must be able to read and understand engineering and other relevant drawings
  • Able to make change of jigs, fixtures, with minimum assistance from shop leads
  • Follow detailed operation instructions, processes and procedures
  • Follow documented policies and procedures as designated by the company’s Quality System
  • Maintain a safe and organized work area at all time, report maintenance issues to supervision
  • Comply with all company safety and security policies including use of PPE
  • Responsible for keeping equipment and work area clean and orderly and perform basic preventative maintenance functions on equipment
  • Perform other duties as assigned
  • Work overtime as required

Required Qualifications, Education, Skills and / or Experience

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Relevant work experience including 1 year of previous machining experience
  • Able to use of precision measuring instruments. Instruments should include but not limited to calipers, ID and OD micrometers, depth gages, indicators an1d scales
  • Experienced in the proper and safe use of hand and light power tools
  • Effective communication skills : verbal and written (English)
  • Follow written and / or oral instructions in English
  • Able to lift parts weighing in excess of 50 pounds (assistance when needed) and to work in bending, squatting and standing positions (includes working off ladders) for long periods of time (in excess of one hour)

    • Preferred Qualifications , Education, Skills and / or Experience

  • Pass forklift certifications and requirements to operate forklifts
