The Staff Database Administrator is responsible for project work critical to keeping systems current with the latest technology to ensure a stable environment for users. The scope of this job includes installation, configuration, monitoring, and maintenance of our databases to increase performance, security, and high availability.
Key Responsibilities :
- Recommend availability, performance, maintenance, security, and disaster recovery opportunities of the enterprise and application databases.
- Mentor and lead database engineering teams with their database management system needs, including completing code reviews and finalizing operational readiness.
- Ensure database systems are properly configured for high availability, reliability, and disaster recovery.
- Investigate database technology trends to assess its feasibility and benefits in an enterprise environment.
- Perform complex disaster recovery functions.
- Strategize capacity planning and maintain comprehensive database documentation and configuration of data models.
- Leverage AI tools and platforms as an integral part of daily responsibilities to enhance decision-making, streamline workflows, and drive data-informed outcomes.
- Perform other job duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications :
Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent work experienceAt least 12-15 years of related work experiencePreferred Qualifications :
Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience, preferred majors are Engineering, Computer Science / Engineering, Information Systems / Decision Sciences, Mathematics, Sciences, or other STEM related majors.At least 5 years’ hands on experience supporting multi-tenant database systems in a high-availability and high-volume environment.Experience supporting PostgreSQL systems in cloud or datacenter environments.Detailed understanding of PostgreSQL architecture and internals.At least 3 years’ experience working in a DevOps / SRE environment.Experience with cloud providers such as AWS, Azure, or GCP, especially working with virtual machines in AWS or GCP.Experience with cloud-native database systems such as AWS RDS, GCP CloudSQL, etc.Experience and strong understanding of database structures, data modeling, database schema design, database administration, best-practices.Experience supporting, monitoring, and configuring Linux environments for database systems.Experience with Infrastructure-as-Code systems, preferably Terraform.Experience with server automation frameworks such as Ansible, Chef, Puppet, or SaltStackExperience with PgBouncerExperience with NoSQL databases such as MongoDB, Redis, ElasticSearch, or DynamoDB.Hands on experience with Microsoft SQL ServerExperience working in a secure regulated or healthcare software sector with experience designing and maintaining systems for HIPAA, HITRUST, or the NIST Cybersecurity FrameworkJob Expectations :
