Job Purpose
The Line Support Technician is responsible for maintaining the overall stability of Tier I (Production Critical) Line Applications and equipment by following documented processes to return to normal operations or to diagnose the situation and escalates to appropriate support group if and when incidents occur. While also applying analysis and design techniques, and expert knowledge of the systems deployed therein, to solve business problems using information technology solutions.
Key Accountabilities
- Plant floor client and end-user desktop, application, and network support for all Tier 1 computer systems
- Oversee the daily execution of operational processes by team in support of production environment
- Support projects such as technology upgrades / implementations of Tier 1 computer systems
- Shift flexibility (Delivery face for IT to Plant Leadership)
- Providing training, support and mentorship to contract team members
- Provide leadership during IT incidents that impact production in line control systems and oversee the triaging of an event to restore production and minimize downtime
- Coordinate and perform in-depth tests, including end-user reviews, for modified and new systems.
- Prioritize and track deliverables, manage project timelines, deadlines, and requests
Qualifications, Experience, And Skills
Minimum Educational Qualifications
Completed post-secondary education in Computer Science or equivalent related experienceMinimum Experience
3+ years of experienceOther Job-Specific Skills
Experience supporting computer applications and end-user computing devicesExperience supporting Windows 7 / 10, Active Directory, LAN / NetworkingExperience using MS-Office, and problem ticketing applicationsExperience executing processes on an AIX / UNIExperience managing 3rd level support calls (Level 2)Demonstrated hardware troubleshooting for printers, scan guns, desktop PCs / laptops, handheld devicesPreferred general functional knowledge of GALC / ALC systems and associated business processes / systemsAbility to follow and document processesAbility to adapt / learn in a changing environmentExperience with general IT processes and development methodologiesSolid analysis, proven problem solving and decision-making skillsShift coverage (Delivery leader for IT with Plant Leadership on off shifts when covering)Demonstrated leadership experience in an IT RoleTotal Rewards
