Product Manager, Plg
You'll be joining our Plg & Growth Platform team as a Product Manager responsible for improving our self-serve customer journey from signup to purchase and long-term retention and expansion. You'll play a critical role in building and executing strategies to accelerate adoption, retention, and monetization of our self-serve plans. At the same time, you will be working through opportunities on how we might scale our self-serve initiatives to our sales-led plans.
You'll be part of a cross-functional team of growth professionals who own our self-serve Plus business. We expect this business to contribute to a significant % of our Net Arr next year, and we need your skills and passion to get us there.
As a Plg Product Manager, you will :
- Collaborate closely with our Design, Engineering, Product, and Gtm teams to identify opportunities and ship features to improve our Self Serve monetization experiences across our platform.
- Manage the end-to-end development lifecycle for our bets, from drafting Prds and prototypes and bug bashing to measuring outcomes against our hypotheses.
- Identify and apply best practices from across the industry to inform our roadmap and prioritize table stakes functionalities.
- Spend time with users and in the data (we use Amplitude, of course) to understand our users deeply, where they get stuck, where they find value, why they buy and why they churn from our Free and self-serve Plus plans.
- Triage customer questions related to their Amplitude product experience to understand our users' friction points and improve upon them.
- Be the pricing & packaging and entitlement expert; define upgrade paths, reverse trials, usage gates, and Pql triggers.
- Design, execute, and analyze experiments to optimize key funnel metrics like our product adoption rate, engagement / retention rate and free-to-paid conversion, and connect outcomes to our business-level goals.
You'll be a great addition to the team if you :
Embrace the customer as part of the team. We believe you don't build what the customer wants, but what the customer wants to become. To create that future, you first have to be an expert in the problem. You interact with customers directly - proxies don't work - so you always gather first-hand feedback. If you don't define the problem correctly, everything else is useless.Empower everyone to be a leader. We believe teams closest to the problem are best suited to make the hard decisions quickly. We don't institute stage gates for a reason - you are given autonomy to ensure we are always progressing forward. However, no individual alone is responsible for making every decision. To be a leader means regularly seeking out the opinions of others and giving everyone a stake in the outcome.Inspire through storytelling. We believe it is our responsibility to motivate through memorable stories that build a deep understanding of our users' experience. You should tell stories to communicate strategy and inspire the outcomes we want to create for our customers. Building a product is about envisioning some future state, and stories can help people relate to where we are and where we are going.Learn through frequent iteration. We believe that rapid iteration is the #1 indicator of success. You strive for a 10x vision, but you get there through 0.1 iterations. To continuously learn, you have to co-develop with customers. It may be faster to build behind closed doors, but by testing "skateboards" you can learn if you're on the right path and gain the confidence needed to build a world-class experience. At a minimum, you should have :
2-4 years of Growth product management, Growth marketing, or related experience, ideally in high growth, B2B SaaS environmentsA track record of executing growth initiatives and driving key growth metrics (activation, retention, monetization, churn)Experience in leveraging AI to empower your day-to-day workflowsAn analytical mindset and past experience in using data to inform decisions and measure successExcellent communication and collaboration skills you'll be collaborating daily with designers, engineers, growth marketers, and other product leadersExperience setting ambitious goals and delivering to them in a fast-changing environment, and learning + iterating quickly if the results aren't as expected.A growth mindset : Always looking to test, iterate and learn and set the bar high for how we operate
