CBIZ Talent Solutions is assisting a client in their search for a Safety Manager.
Position Overview :
The Safety Manager oversees the efficient, compliant, and safe operation of all fleets and the Safety Department. This role is responsible for managing daily departmental functions, leading safety initiatives, and ensuring that all safety-related activities align with operational goals and regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities :
- Provide leadership, supervision, and direction to Safety Department managers and supervisors.
- Develop and manage budgets for warehouse, fleet, and safety operations.
- Recruit, train, and oversee Safety Department personnel, ensuring strong performance and professional growth.
- Serve as the company’s representative for legal matters involving workers’ compensation and physical damage claims.
- Collaborate with the Training Supervisor to design and execute training programs that support departmental goals.
- Maintain compliance with all federal and state regulations, including OSHA and DOT standards.
- Ensure labor law and OSHA postings are current in all office and warehouse locations.
Experience & Qualifications :
Minimum of 10 years of experience in the transportation industry, trucking experience preferredProven managerial background in logistics, distribution, or loss control managementIn-depth knowledge of DOT and CSA rules and regulations and thorough understanding of OSHA laws and compliance requirementsExcellent verbal and written communication skillsProficient in computer applications, including Microsoft Office Suite
