About the Role :
- Directs and oversees all nursing services in the Ambulatory Surgery Center (ASC) in accordance with recognized standards of practice, law, and regulations.
- Acts as a department resource for staff questions and concerns.
- Facilitates ongoing staff training needs assessments, new hire training, and supervises Coordinator and / or Team Lead with annual mandatory training and competencies.
- Facilitates and oversees interviewing, hiring, disciplinary actions, and employee conflicts (in conjunction with HR).
- Displays leadership by taking responsibility for actions and supporting initiatives and policies toward company goals.
- Reviews surgical schedule on a continuous basis to ensure staff, equipment, and supplies are sufficient.
- Addresses patient care issues : addresses patient grievances, ensures proper completion and submission of Notable Case Forms and ensures completion of patient phone calls, communication of patient transfers / deaths to the appropriate personnel.
- Takes responsibility for purchasing activities, pharmaceutical activities / regulatory requirements, and VCSC equipment.
- Reports medical device issues to the appropriate personnel, provides input for equipment purchases to the appropriate personnel, directs maintenance and repair requirements, and maintains equipment manuals.
- Addresses and ensures compliance with accreditation and federal / state regulatory requirements for the facility.
- Directs and participates in Quality Assurance Performance Improvement.
- Establishes and achieves personal, professional, and departmental goals.
- Regularly communicates department goals, company and department changes, and strategic initiatives to staff.
- Promotes enthusiasm, dedication, motivation, and productivity within the department.
- Participates in the annual planning and budgeting process and is accountable for managing within the budgeted expenses for assigned areas.
Qualifications :
Graduation from an accredited school of nursing and current licensure in California with the board of Registered Nursing (RN).BLS and ACLS certifications.Minimum of two years previous O.R. or O.P.S. experience required.Minimum of two years’ previous management experience required.Bachelor’s degree from four-year College or university, B.S.N. (preferred).Previous ophthalmic surgery experience (preferred).Required Skills :

Preference will be given to applicants with experience in vision care.
Pay range and compensation package :
Salary will be determined based on experience and education of the candidate. Review of applications will continue until the position is filled.
PAY RANGE : $138,000 - $163,000 per year depending on skills, experience, and education.
