JOB SUMMARY :
Reporting to the Senior Marketing Manager and a member of the Marketing team within the Dallas Arboretum and Botanical Garden’s Advancement division, the Social Media Manager executes the Arboretum’s creative vision and digital storytelling strategy across all social platforms. This position is responsible for growing audience engagement, strengthening brand awareness, and driving attendance, membership, and loyalty through visually compelling, mission-aligned content.
The Social Media Manager serves as both strategist and creator, well-versed in best practices across Meta, Instagram, X, YouTube, and TikTok, and ensures that every post, reel, and video reflects the Arboretum’s mission to be a garden for all that enriches lives through beauty, learning, and connection.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO :
- Execute the Arboretum’s social media strategy to support organizational goals for engagement, brand growth, and attendance.
- Develop content calendars aligned with exhibitions, seasonal festivals, and membership campaigns.
- Create original content including photos, videos, captions, and stories that reflect the Arboretum’s creative vision and brand standards.
- Partner with internal teams and external agencies to ensure campaigns are cohesive across web, email, and digital advertising.
- Collaborate with the Senior Marketing Manager to interpret analytics and use data to refine strategy and optimize performance.
- Manage daily posting, scheduling, and monitoring on Meta, Instagram, X, YouTube, and TikTok.
- Support audience development strategies to attract younger, more diverse visitors through trend-based content and influencer collaboration.
- Maintain brand consistency and accuracy across all digital channels.
- Provide monthly reports on engagement, growth, and campaign impact.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS :
Experience : 3–5 years of professional experience managing social media for a brand, agency, or nonprofit.Proven track record of content creation that drives engagement and measurable results.Experience with analytics and scheduling tools (Meta Business Suite, Later, Sprout, Google Analytics).Education : Bachelor's degree in marketing, Communications, Digital Media, Journalism, or related field (or equivalent experience).KnowledgeDeep understanding of social media algorithms, best practices, and emerging trends.Strong copywriting and visual storytelling skills.Photography and short-form video editing experience preferred.Understanding of digital advertising and influencer marketing principles a plus.Certifications (Preferred) : Meta Certified Digital Marketing Associate or similar credential.Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, holidays, and weekends, if neededValid Driver’s LicenseAbility to pass all pre-employment testing, including a criminal background check and drug screeningKEY COMPETENCIES :
