Responsibilities Float Pool assignment to multiple ICU and intermediate care units, including Medical ICU, Thoracic Cardiovascular ICU, Coronary Care Unit, Surgical Trauma ICU (Level 1), Neuro & Neurosurgery ICU, and critical care special pathogens units Includes care for admitted patients boarding in the ED prior to room assignment Night shifts with 12-hour shifts (19 : 00-07 : 00), with options for 36 or 48 hours per week Required to work every other weekend and 2 out of 3 winter holidays Epic EMR experience required and utilized across units Expected to float to various units based on facility needs following the float policy Main responsibilities include delivering critical care in diverse ICU and step-down environments, adapting quickly to different patient populations and protocols Must complete orientation modules (up to 16 hours, non-billable) during onboarding A maximum of 40 hours of time off can be approved per 13-week contract Travelers must not return for another assignment within one year of working as permanent staff or internal traveler in the same health system External travelers cannot exceed 365 cumulative days on assignment at the facility No mile radius rule applies for ICU assignments Must provide copies of all required certifications prior to start Requirements Active VA or compact RN license (pending accepted but must be in hand before start date) Current BLS and ACLS certifications required Experience in a Level 1 Trauma ICU setting strongly preferred Proven experience with Epic EMR required BSN preferred Two professional references required for consideration Benefits High Pay and Bonuses Medical, Dental and Vision Insurance with Day 1 Options 401(k) Plan Weekly Payroll Deposit Free Online CEUs Generous Housing Allowance Travel and Licensure Reimbursements Non-taxed Per Diem and Subsidy Traveler Rewards and Discounts American Traveler Job ID P-620020.
