Our client, a well-regarded NYC-based law firm, is seeking an experienced Real Estate Attorney to join their growing practice focused on cooperative and condominium law. The ideal candidate will have deep experience advising co-op and condo boards on governance, drafting governing documents, and filing with the NYS Attorney General.
Key Responsibilities :
- Serve as lead counsel for a portfolio of 30–50+ NYC co-op and condo boards
- Advise managing agents and board members on legal needs and governance matters
- Attend and manage board meetings (often evenings) and provide real-time legal counsel
- Draft and revise bylaws, proprietary leases, declarations, and house rules
- File offering plans, no-action letters, and amendments with the NYS Attorney General
- Handle shareholder / member disputes, election issues, and regulatory compliance
Qualifications :
7–10+ years practicing condo / co-op law in NYCExperience with governance, AG filings, and client-facing board representationAbility to work independently and handle fast-paced, high-pressure situationsClear, confident communication skills with sophisticated boards and stakeholdersPreferred Attributes :
