Overview

Salary : $32 / Hour. Urgently Hiring Sign Language Interpreters for the 2025-2026 school year. This is a Virtual / REMOTE position. M-F - Part-time to Permanent opportunities starting at $30 - $35 (depending on experience).

Position involves facilitating communication between deaf or hard-of-hearing students and others within an educational setting, using American Sign Language (ASL) to interpret spoken language into sign language and vice versa to ensure accommodations for classroom instruction and discussions.

Responsibilities

The Educational Sign Language Interpreter is a trained professional who facilitates communication between deaf or hard-of-hearing students and others within an educational setting.

Minimum Requirements / Certifications

• Proficiency in American Sign Language
• Associates degree or Bachelors degree in interpreting, deaf studies or related field, preferred
• State Board of Education Initial Sign Language Interpreter Certificate (as applicable)
• Educational Interpreter Performance Assessment (EIPA) certificate (as applicable per state regulation or client requirement)
• Registry of Interpreters for the Deaf (RID) certification (as applicable per state regulation or client requirement)
• Complies with all relevant professional standards of practice
• Current CPR if applicable
• TB questionnaire, PPD or chest x-ray if applicable
• Current Health certificate (per contract or state regulation)
• Must meet all federal, state and local requirements
• Must be at least 18 years of age
