Financial Recovery Analyst
The Department of Medical Assistance Services (DMAS) is excited to offer a competitive opportunity to serve as the Financial Recovery Analyst. The selected competitive candidate will provide exceptional delivery of services to the Fiscal Division. Job responsibilities will include, but are not limited to, investigating, identifying, and recovering Third Party Liability (TPL) related receivables due to the Department of Medical Assistance Services (DMAS). The purpose of this position is to ensure the timely and accurate recovery of funds in accordance with both state and federal regulations related to Medicaid recoveries. The above activities are to ensure that Virginia Medicaid remains the payor of last resort.

Competitive candidates will meet these minimum qualifications : Knowledge / experience of health coverage entities and related partners including insurance companies, law firms, courts, and outside agencies such as the Department of Social Services (DSS) and the Office of the Attorney General (OAG). Knowledge / experience performing work requiring analysis of data and application of applicable professional principles and standards required. Knowledge / experience of the interplay of financial recovery processes and accounts receivable. Knowledge / experience handling multiple time sensitive deliverables. Knowledge / experience utilizing personal computer and related software applications including Microsoft (MS) Outlook, MS Teams, MS SharePoint, MS Dynamics, MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, APEX applications, and Oracle Finance required. Knowledge / experience and / or experience analyzing, interpreting, and applying federal, state laws / regulations related to Virginia Medicaid and Third Party Liability (TPL) recoveries. Knowledge / experience meeting deadlines. Knowledge / experience effectively communicating with internal and external stakeholders. Knowledge / experience of medical terminology and claims information.
Competitive candidates should meet these additional considerations : Knowledge / experience with accounting practices specific to Virginia Medicaid. Knowledge / experience with queries from complex automated computer systems including Virginia Medicaid's Fiscal Agent Services (FAS) system, Claims Inquiry Request for Information (CIRI) system, and the TPL Case Management System (TPL CMS).
