Operations Supervisor at a Recycling Facility

Position Overview

We are seeking a Material Recovery Facility (MRF) Operations Supervisor to lead our team in Elk Grove Village, IL . In this role, youll oversee daily operations, ensure safety and compliance, and drive performance at our recycling facility.

Key Responsibilities

Supervise and assign work crews operating post-collection and recycling equipment

Monitor daily operations and adjust staffing as needed

Conduct field inspections and safety audits

Manage environmental and OSHA compliance programs

Handle customer feedback and resolve service issues

Lead performance reviews and employee development

Set and execute short- and long-term operational goals

Support budget planning and Servant Leadership initiatives

Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Bachelors degree strongly preferred

Prior experience in solid waste, recycling, or facility operations

Strong leadership and communication skills

Bilingual in English / Spanish

Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines

Capable of lifting 50 lbs and working in all weather conditions
