Our client, who is in rapid growth mode located in Northern NJ, that is in the Retail, Commercialized Industry is currently seeking a Financial Analyst.

The Financial Analyst MUST have experience already having been involved in a full budgeting and forecasting cycle with a company. The hiring manager also wants the candidate to have dealt with large data sets of information, data visualization and is super strong with MS Excel.
In addition, the Financial Analyst must have excellent communication skills, be detail-oriented, analytical, supporting strategic initiatives and providing key insights to drive business decisions. The candidate must have strong financial modeling expertise, advanced technical skills, and a proven ability to transform data into compelling narratives.
Key Responsibilities
Assist with the preparation of budgets and forecasts, including detailed variance analysis.Consolidate and distill summary budgets into site-level, brand-level, and account-level data, applying advanced allocation methodologies such as seasonality curves and week-over-week growth trends.Develop complex financial models to support commercial, operational, and facility projects.Create impactful presentations with data-driven visuals to effectively communicate insights and elevate storytelling.Leverage advanced technical expertise in Excel for data analysis and reporting.Utilize Power BI for synthesizing and optimizing large datasets for enhanced decision-making.Analyze financial data to identify key business performance drivers using Smartview and EPM tools.Prepare monthly financial reporting presentations for leadership, including insightful commentary and variance analysis.Provide detailed expense reports and variance analysis for Head Office teams, supporting leadership with actionable insights.Collaborate with Finance Business Managers and the Head of Transformation to analyze direct site costs, highlight outliers, and identify savings opportunities.Oversee statistical account loads into ERP systems (PDI / EPM) and labor platforms (UKG), ensuring data integrity and validation.Develop financial models for capital project assessments, presenting findings to the Investment Committee, analyzing returns (ROCE, Payback), and conducting post-project evaluations.Support initiatives that drive business improvement and provide analytical input for ad hoc projects.Qualifications & Skills
Bachelors degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or a related field; MBA preferred.2-3 years of experience in FP&A or a similar financial analysis role.Industry experience in retail, wholesale, or quick-service restaurants is a plus.Advanced expertise in creating complex financial models.Strong analytical acumen with the ability to interpret and challenge data and probe financial systems effectively.Proficiency in advanced Excel functions (Pivot Tables, Statistical Functions, etc.) as well as expertise in Power BI, Smartview, and Oracle EPM.Exceptional presentation skills with the ability to create professional and visually compelling PowerPoint reports.Adept problem-solving skills with a strategic and detail-oriented mindset.
