CIP Validation Engineer

Location : Raleigh, North Carolina

Long Term Project

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, optimize, and validate CIP cycles for a wide range of process equipment and systems.
  • Perform commissioning and provide automation support for CIP systems (PLC, SCADA, DeltaV).
  • Author and execute CIP validation protocols, including development, execution, and summary reports.
  • Conduct troubleshooting and performance optimization of CIP systems and circuits.
  • Review and verify piping design, flow calculations, and process diagrams related to CIP systems.
  • Ensure compliance with GMP and GDP documentation standards, including batch record review.
  • Review and assess engineering specifications for regulatory and operational compliance.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with process, automation, and quality teams, and serve as a technical point of contact for vendors and clients.
  • Provide technical input during commissioning, qualification, and validation (CQV) phases for process equipment.
  • Maintain and update documentation, ensuring adherence to company and regulatory standards.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related discipline.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in pharmaceutical or GMP manufacturing environments.
  • Proven hands-on experience with CIP system design, cycle development, and cleaning validation.
  • Working knowledge of PLC, SCADA, or DeltaV control systems.
  • Strong understanding of fluid dynamics, piping design, and process flow principles.
  • Experience authoring and executing IQ / OQ / PQ protocols and generating validation summary reports.
  • Excellent technical writing, documentation, and communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Ability to work shift schedules and travel as required for project support.
