Purpose Statement : The Sr Manager of Accounting will provide leadership to the Corporate accounting team, enabling a timely and accurate month end close process.
Key Job Accountabilities :
- Responsible for managing all activities related to the global close and general accounting functions, including journal entries, reconciliations, financial close calendar and other duties as necessary to ensure an accurate and timely financial close.
- Maintain, and develop as needed, global accounting policies and procedures to satisfy U.S. GAAP requirements.
- Partner with various functions to review contracts and agreements, research relevant accounting guidance, and recommend accounting and financial reporting requirements for complex transactions with a focus on ASC 606, Revenue Recognition. This includes preparing technical accounting memorandums for significant transactions and support the review process with management and external auditors.
- Monitors standard setters (FASB, SEC, etc.) for latest accounting and disclosure requirements and assists in the implementation as appropriate.
- Drive continuous improvement to achieve efficiency and effectiveness of the Global Accounting function through process optimization and automation including the implementation of new technologies or enhancement of current technologies.
- Accountable to execute on Plexus' Best People strategy, leaders will focus on evaluating potential, driving succession planning and ensuring that their employees receive the development and coaching required to realize their full potential.
Additional Accountabilities :
Participates in the preparation and review of financial statements, including footnotes, MD&A and other miscellaneous financial statement disclosures.Work with both internal and external auditors to provide requested information timely.Responsible for maintenance and execution of internal controls within the Corporate Accounting department to comply with SOX regulations, including updating related SOX narratives.Build and maintain strong cross-functional relationships with business leaders to help guide and influence decision-making regarding accounting and reporting issues.Minimal travel may be required.Other duties as assigned.Education / Experience Qualifications :
A minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance is required; a CPA or MBA is preferred.Seven (7) years of related experience is required. An equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the key job accountabilities may be considered.Other Qualifications :
Big 4 or other large public accounting firm experience preferredExperience working in technical accounting and financial reporting within a manufacturing organizationAdvanced computer skillsAdvanced decision making / problem solving skillsAdvanced verbal and written skillsMust be self-motivated with the ability to work independentlyGood communication and team skills, as well as the ability to maintain confidentiality of all customer and company information is required.Physical Requirements :
Professional office environment with suitable lighting, comfortable temperatures, and low noise level. May require prolonged periods of sitting at a desk, using a computer, and other office equipment. Minimal physical activity is generally involved, emphasizing the importance of good posture and ergonomic workplace arrangements.Travel Requirements :
