Job Summary

The Director of Rehabilitation and Wellness Services directs and administers all aspects of Rehabilitative Care and Wellness programs and services with the hospital. The Director collaborates with the Medical Staff, Administration and Nursing Services to provide administrative support for development and implementation of goals and objectives, to include annual program evaluation. The Director coordinates and oversees participation of all relevant disciplines in program implementation; is responsible for development, coordination, evaluation and management of the department. The Director is actively involved in marketing Physical Therapy and Wellness services to physicians and the community. The Director participates in direct patient care as warranted by patient load and / or census.

Job Requirements

Minimum Education Requirement

Graduate of an accredited Physical Therapy program required. Master's degree required.

Minimum Experience Requirement

Minimum five (5) years as a Licensed Physical Therapist in a clinical care or home care setting required. Three (3) years supervisory experience preferred. Proficient in the use of a personal computer including spreadsheet analysis, presentation graphics and word processing. Highly developed oral, written and organizational skills. Ability to communicate effectively with individuals and groups at all levels of the organization, patients, families and external individuals, groups and agencies. Ability to manage multiple priorities and make appropriate decisions to assure completion of tasks on time. Demonstrates flexibility and willingness to undertake new responsibilities as assigned. Appropriate professional demeanor to represent AAMC to internal and external constituents. Ability to work under stress. Ability to solve problems of a complex nature. Ability to multitask.

Minimum License Requirement

Current licensure as a Physical Therapist, must be in good standing for the State of South Carolina required. Current BLS Certification prior to delivering patient care.
