The Lead Maintenance Technician is responsible for overseeing the maintenance operations for our restaurant locations. This includes leading the maintenance staff, coordinating repair work, managing preventative maintenance schedules, and ensuring all equipment, utilities, and facilities are functioning efficiently and safely. The role plays a key part in minimizing downtime and maintaining a safe, compliant, and well-functioning environment for staff and guests.
Key Responsibilities :
- Team Supervision & Scheduling
- Lead, train, and schedule a team of maintenance technicians and / or contractors.
- Assign and oversee daily work orders, repairs, and preventative maintenance tasks.
- Conduct performance reviews and provide coaching or corrective action as needed.
- Maintenance & Repairs
- Troubleshoot and coordinate repairs for all restaurant systems, including HVAC, refrigeration, plumbing, electrical, kitchen equipment, and facilities.
- Respond to urgent repair requests and minimize service disruption.
- Preventative Maintenance
- Develop, implement, and manage a preventative maintenance program for all equipment and systems.
- Ensure maintenance logs are completed accurately and timely.
- Compliance & Safety
- Ensure all work is performed in compliance with OSHA standards, health codes, and company safety policies.
- Conduct regular safety inspections of equipment and facilities.
- Maintain documentation for regulatory inspections and audits.
- Budgeting & Inventory
- Monitor maintenance budgets and control costs for repairs, tools, and supplies.
- Manage inventory of parts, tools, and maintenance equipment.
- Source vendors and request quotes for outsourced repair services when needed.
- Collaboration
- Work closely with restaurant management to plan maintenance work that minimizes impact on daily operations.
- Provide input on equipment purchases and facility upgrades.

Qualifications :
Experience :Minimum 3-5 years of experience in building or equipment maintenance, preferably in a restaurant, hospitality, or food service environment.Supervisory or team leadership experience required.Technical Skills :Proficient in troubleshooting HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and commercial kitchen equipment.Familiar with preventative maintenance tools, work order systems, and basic building codes.Certifications (Preferred but not required) :HVAC, EPA Universal Certification, Electrical License, or similar technical certification.Soft Skills :Strong leadership, time management, and communication skills.Ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision.Physical Requirements :Must be able to lift 50 lbs, climb ladders, and work in tight spaces or hot / cold conditions.Willing to be on call for emergencies, including nights and weekends.Reports To :
