Position Overview
We are seeking a technically skilled and customer-focused Sales and Technical Support Specialist to support pre-sales activities, customer training, and product support at Summa America. This role combines technical expertise with strong communication skills to deliver world-class service to our customers, partners, and internal teams. This is a full-time onsite position based in Indianapolis, IN. The ideal candidate will enjoy problem-solving, hands-on demonstrations, and helping customers get the most out of Summa's industry-leading cutting equipment. This is a dynamic role that includes travel across North America and occasional international trips, offering a diverse and rewarding professional experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Product Demonstration & Application Support
- Conduct in-person and remote product demonstrations for customers, distributors, and partners
- Perform material testing and recommend machine settings to ensure high-quality results
- Coordinate logistics for customer materials and test sessions
- Serve as a technical advisor to internal sales staff and distribution partners during the training
- Training & Technical Support
- Provide in-house, remote, and on-site training on equipment operation, maintenance, installation, and troubleshooting
- Deliver installation support and repair assistance as needed across North America
- Maintain scheduling and readiness of the Summa Experience Center
- Collaborate with the marketing team to develop product collateral such as samples, videos, and application scenarios
- Host and support webinars in partnership with marketing
- Provide training and technical support to dealers across the region
- Event Support & Reporting
- Participate in trade shows, conferences, and dealer events—including setup, teardown, and live demos
- Maintain accurate records of demonstrations, training sessions, and service interactions
- Submit detailed reports on sales support activities and customer engagements
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree or equivalent technical experience2+ years of experience in technical support, sales engineering, or a customer-facing roleStrong mechanical aptitude and enthusiasm for learning new technologyExperience with finishing and cutting equipment is requiredPrint-to-Cut workflow knowledge is a plusExcellent communication and presentation skillsFluent in English, with the ability to explain technical concepts clearlyProficient in Microsoft Office Suite and CRM tools (HubSpot experience is a plus)Comfortable with frequent travel across the U.S., Canada, and occasionally BelgiumPrior experience in the printing, signage, or finishing equipment industry is preferredSchedule & Benefits
