Plant Manager
Location : Kent, WA - S. 222nd St. - ASU
How will you contribute and grow? The primary function of this job is to operate small Airgas facilities safely and reliably by complying with regulatory requirements, developing and leading personnel, managing costs effectively, and developing personal skills and competencies. "Small" facilities generally include 0-3 people at a single location. Salary Range : $115K - $140K
Essential Duties & Responsibilities :
Operational Duties :
Encompasses a wide range of responsibilities, including fully supporting, accurately completing, and maintaining all company Health, Safety, and Environmental policies, procedures, and documentation as required. Accountable and responsible for site safety including employees, contractors, visitors and neighbors. Other essential tasks include meeting or exceeding company safety standards, demonstrating strong safety leadership and commitment and implementing and maintaining the training matrix and Airgas University training for the site. Owns Key Operating Documents, maintains updated red-lines at all times, and display a detailed understanding of content and significance of each document. In addition to this, the job requires making plant and process decisions, performing process troubleshooting, establishing clear delegation of this authority to trained subordinates, fostering positive customer and intercompany department relationships, delivering the quality and quantity of product required by the business and executing predictive and preventive maintenance to eliminate catastrophic failures and unplanned maintenance. Develop annual maintenance plans and turn-around planning as needed and sets and maintains high housekeeping standards to exemplify and improve the company image.
Regulatory Requirements :
Operate the facility in compliance with all local and federal governmental regulations Food and Drug Administration (FDA), Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), Department of Transportation (DOT), Current Good Manufacturing Practice (cGMP), etc) and company policies. This role also includes maintaining and complying with all necessary licenses and permits, providing all regulatory training and maintaining documentation, reporting and investigating all incidents and ensuring corrective actions are complete. Keep plant hazard analysis current and displaying thorough knowledge of possible hazards and associated safeguards as well as adhering to Management of Change procedure. This role also ensures that all performance evaluations, hiring, promotions and assignments are free of any form of discrimination; Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC).
Safety & Compliance Functions :
This role includes a commitment to strict adherence to company policies, safety guidelines, and procedural standards, as well a focus on modeling exemplary safety behavior, leading by personal example, working to achieve "Zero Accidents" by taking a leadership role in safety, implementing and ensuring compliance to the Qualification and Training program for Production Technicians.
Communication & Collaboration :
Conduct an annual performance review with each employee, implement individual development plans annually and provide training and coaching to improve performance, provide candid constructive input to management decisions and actively support those decisions as well as adhering to administrative and operational policies and procedures.
Financial Management :
Understand, monitor and optimize operating costs within an authorized budget and the ability to identify and implement opportunities to reduce costs within delegated authorization. Participate in the Capital Planning Process and the Yearly Expense Budgeting Process and control overtime within established limits and
