We are looking for a Senior Investment Accountant to join our clients team in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. This role is integral to managing and improving investment accounting processes, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, and serving as a subject matter expert within the organization. The ideal candidate will thrive in a collaborative environment, demonstrating leadership and expertise in investment accounting and financial reporting.

Responsibilities :

• Oversee the preparation and review of annual, quarterly, and monthly investment accounting reports for both internal and external stakeholders.
• Act as a subject matter expert by handling complex accounting tasks and providing guidance to the Investment Analysis team.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements by executing and leading key controls, including audits and financial disclosures.
• Conduct detailed analysis of investment data, including valuation, pricing, prepayment speeds, and ratings.
• Enhance and maintain the integrity of investment system data, including holdings, transactions, and security master files.
• Review and resolve discrepancies in daily cash and position reconciliations between custodians and investment systems.
• Prepare and review financial reports for executives, actuaries, and investment management teams.
• Develop and document investment accounting policies and procedures while cross-training team members.
• Collaborate with team members to achieve shared objectives, fostering a positive and inclusive work environment.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in investment accounting or a related field.
• Strong knowledge of fund administration, investment accounts, and portfolio management.
• Expertise in equity investments and month-end close processes.
• Proficiency in both Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and statutory accounting guidelines.
• Skilled in financial analysis and reporting with attention to detail.
• Experience with regulatory compliance and audit processes.
• Ability to mentor and guide team members effectively.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
