Are you a skilled technician with a sharp eye for detail and a strong background in special inspections? Geo-Technology Associates, Inc. (GTA's) Orlando office is looking for a full-time Senior Engineering Technician to support critical construction projects across the region. If you're passionate about ensuring quality and safety on high-impact builds, we want to hear from you.
What You'll Be Doing : As a Senior Engineering Technician, you'll be on the front lines of construction oversight, ensuring projects meet all codes, standards, and client expectations. Responsibilities include :
- Conducting special inspections on threshold buildings
- Verifying that construction complies with approved plans and specs
- Performing field inspections, testing, and sampling
- Coordinating with clients, contractors, and GTA project managers
- Keeping detailed field reports and assisting in technical documentation
Ideal Candidate ProfileYou bring a strong foundation in construction inspections and meet at least one of the following :
Hold a degree in Civil Engineering or ArchitecturePossess certification(s) such as :ACI Concrete Special InspectorICC Masonry Special InspectorICC Structural Steel Special InspectorHave 5+ years of experience with special inspections, preferably on threshold buildingsRequirements
Reliable transportation, a valid driver's license, and a clean driving recordU.S. work authorization (Visa sponsorship is not available)Ability to work both independently and as part of a teamPhysically able to lift 75 lbs. unaided (100 lbs. with assistance) and perform fieldwork dutiesProficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and AdobeWhat To Expect In This Role
GTA will provide all required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) to keep you safe on the job, including a high-visibility vest, hard hat, gloves, and safety glasses.
Compensation is hourly, with overtime paid at 1.5x your regular rate.Your work hours are calculated from the time you arrive at the office in the morning to when you leave in the evening, excluding your lunch break.Mileage reimbursement is provided for travel between the office and job sites, based on the current IRS rate (currently $0.67 per mile).Physical & Sensory Requirements
This position may involve extended periods of standing and repetitive physical activity, such as lifting, hammering, or using tools. You'll need to be able to :
