Your Mission, If You Choose to Accept

Be technical owner for end-to-end substation design, including :

General arrangements, plan / elevation views, grounding, cable and conduit layouts

Equipment specs, bill of materials, and design calculations

Construction documentation : sequencing plans and RFP packages

Technical Studies

Grounding, lightning, AC / DC load sizing, fault stress—and bus-level analysis

Cross-functional Collaboration

Work seamlessly with physical designers, and coordinate with civil, geotech, transmission, distribution, and survey disciplines

Guide teams on system protection & communications

Act as a technical point person in review meetings and knock down any blockers in the process

Culture of Mastery

Publish high-quality deliverables, and contribute to continuous improvement

Advise leadership on ROI and influence strategy through engineering excellence

You Bring

Credentials

Bachelor's in Electrical Engineering (accredited)

Professional Engineer (PE) license

Proven Experience

7+ years in high-voltage / EHV substation design—technical, detailed, high-stakes

Core Competencies

AutoCAD or Bentley MicroStation

CDEGS, WinIGS, or similar tools for grounding and lightning simulations

Deep understanding of NEC, National Electrical Safety Code, and fault-level bus dynamics

Communication Savvy

Exceptional written / oral skills

Thrive in fast-paced, multiple-project environments

Preferred But Awesome

Outage sequence planning, constructability reviews, and O&M considerations

Scope writing, QA / QC leadership, direct report management
