Part-Time Direct Support Professional (DSP)

Harry Meyering Center supports people with developmental and intellectual disabilities in their homes and community.

Objective :  Provide support to those with developmental disabilities in a person-centered way. Encourage independence and daily personal growth while assisting with cares and engaging in home and community activities.

Schedule :  Work anywhere from 8 to 40 hours a week! Includes working at least every other Saturday and Sunday.  Plus, fill-in and holidays. Shifts may include 7 : 00 AM to 3 : 00 PM, 3 : 00 PM to 10 : 00 PM, or other short shifts, including 12 : 00 PM to 4 : 00 PM or 4 : 00 PM to 8 : 00 PM.

Wage :   $16.50 per hour for part-time employees after the completion of a 90-day introductory period, with a starting pay of $16.00 per hour.

Job Duties and Responsibilities :

• Provide direct care for others in an individualized and meaningful way.
• Assist in personal cares.
• Engage in community activities, i.e., bowling, shopping, watching a movie or exercising.
• Complete daily direct care such as bathing, toileting, feeding, and dressing.
• Complete household chores such as cooking, cleaning, and laundry.
• Maintain HIPAA Compliance in all communications to HMC, whether written or verbal, external and internal.
• Follows all health and safety policies and procedures.
• Other duties as assigned.
