Public Trust Accounting Position
Provide comprehensive support to the accounting team across all phases of the accounting lifecycle, including daily operations, month-end close, and financial reporting, with a strong focus on compliance and accuracy in a government contracting environment.
General Duties :
Manage daily cash flow activities, including bank reconciliations and account monitoring.
Perform full-cycle Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable functions.
Process payroll in compliance with federal, state, and contractual requirements; ensure timely and accurate quarterly and annual filings.
Lead month-end close activities, including account reconciliations, journal entries, and preparation of financial statements.
Ensure compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR).
Monitor and respond to inquiries from the accounting inbox in a timely and professional manner.
Develop, maintain, and improve standard operating procedures (SOPs) for accounting processes.
Assist with tax planning, preparation, and coordination of annual audits.
Reconcile time and expense entries between internal systems and partner platforms, resolving discrepancies as needed.
Manage onboarding and offboarding processes for employees and contractors within the accounting system, ensuring proper documentation and protocol adherence.
Support budget development, forecasting, and ongoing budget monitoring.
Assist in accounting needs of affiliated entities.
Support ad-hoc data calls.
Register and maintain state business licenses and payroll tax accounts.
Assist in incurred cost submission and provisional bill rates development.
Required Qualifications :
Knowledge :
Working knowledge of GAAP, FAR and DCAA compliance.
Experience with Unanet.
Skills :
Advanced Excel skills and familiarity with financial reporting tools.
Strong communication skills.
Self-starter requiring minimal direction.
Strong time management skills.
Highly organized.

Bachelor's Degree in Accounting Finance or related field [As a substitution for a Bachelor's degree-10 years of experience professionally practicing accounting concepts].
Minimum 5 Years of Experience in Accounting / Finance Role.
Minimum 2 Years of Experience in Government Contracting.
Minimum 2 Years of Experience in Payroll Processing.
Unanet Financial Experience - Intermediate User.
Experience supporting audits and tax filings is a plus.
Clearance :
