Overview
Principal Transformation Consultant role at UCSF Health. This is a regular full-time role with benefits, working within UCSF Health’s Office of Transformation and reporting to the VP, Transformation. The Office aims to accelerate results across multiple strategic and operational initiatives, ensuring UCSF Health’s vision and priorities are realized. You will develop the approach, process, and project management and initiative execution infrastructure for driving the enterprise initiative portfolio and return under the Office of Transformation. This includes building methodologies and tools for defining, measuring, and reporting on initiative objectives, milestones, key success metrics, ROI, and ultimate impact. You will concurrently drive two to three initiatives from inception to implementation in collaboration with the executive sponsor and initiative owner. Exercise a high level of judgment in selecting methods, techniques, and evaluation criteria for obtaining results. Take ownership for advancing significant change management initiatives. Regularly work on highly complex issues or problems that require analysis of unique issues without precedent and / or structure.
Note : This is a hybrid position, with in-office work in San Francisco several days a week. The final salary and offer components are subject to UC policy. Salary range : $164,300 - $373,000.
Responsibilities

The Transformation Office translates UCSF’s vision into reality. The Office organizes, coordinates, and deploys people and resources to lead from the front and improve access, efficiency, and quality performance across UCSF Health.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in a related area or four years of equivalent experience / training.Ten or more years of relevant health administration experience.Strategic development and leadership :Ability to define the vision and strategic direction for transformation initiatives; set goals, priorities, and success metrics.Experience developing and executing strategic growth initiatives, including service line growth, access / site optimization, de novo site / geography expansion, and strategic partnerships.Expert-level skills engaging executives and clinicians to facilitate opportunity analysis, recommend solutions, develop budgets, and manage initiatives to achieve results.Project management and performance measurement :Advanced project management and planning skills; track progress and manage complex initiatives within time and budget constraints.Ability to select and implement PM methods, tools, and metrics; build reporting infrastructure to align accountability and measure impact.Problem solving, financial, and analytical skills :Strong problem-solving abilities; experience with financial and operational analyses; manage budgets and resources for a portfolio of initiatives.Cross-functional collaboration and stakeholder engagement :Ability to coach, facilitate, and influence across levels; collaborate with IT, HR, Operations, Finance to integrate transformation strategies; communicate with executives, board members, and partners; build consensus for enterprise-wide change.Team leadership :Direct and mentor two to three junior consultants; develop talent within the Transformation Office.Proven ability to drive results :Improve processes and productivity; anticipate obstacles and plan contingencies; course-correct as needed to drive outcomes.Onsite requirements :This position requires work onsite in San Francisco; based on business needs, remote work may be possible occasionally.Preferred Qualifications
Advanced degree (MBA).Ten or more years of experience in strategy, problem solving, analytics, financial analysis and budgeting, and project management in a health system.Experience managing direct reports.Advanced knowledge of organizational processes and common software tools.Six Sigma / Lean Certification.About UCSF
