MSBPNA is seeking to hire candidates for the position of Mortgage Consultant for the Morgan Stanley Home Loans team. As a Mortgage Consultant (MC), you will use your in-depth industry knowledge and experience to provide an excellent client experience to our Financial Advisors and their wealth management clients throughout the home loans mortgage origination cycle.
The ideal candidate will be a subject matter expert in jumbo mortgages, complex income and assets and have a high degree of comfort engaging with affluent clients and their advisors. An individual that exhibits high energy, takes ownership, and demonstrates a collaborative pro-active approach is critical for this role.
Position can be based : (a) in our Dallas, TX office or (b) Tempe, AZ office.
Responsibilities
- The MC will form deep working relationships with Financial Advisors and Personal Bankers. Assist in providing expert advice and problem-solving skills to help meet client mortgage needs.
- Ability to work as part of team assigned to a Complex / Branch level coverage and grow the market share through business referrals.
- Provide the best rate execution and proper product selection for the clients.
- Act as the "face" of the business by owning the client experience up to and including loan registration. This includes following up on potential client referrals and helping the client complete a high-quality, accurate and compliant mortgage application.
- Work directly with Private Bankers (Field Sales) to help reach complex / branch growth targets.
- Maintain and follow up on a pipeline of client referrals.
- Analyze financial information to assess whether clients and the property may qualify for a lending solution and identify best mortgage options.
- Participate in business partner events and office activities promoting the Home Loan team.
- Partner with Mortgage Specialist Team to ensure seamless transfer of the loan application after intent to proceed is received.
- Manage multiple responsibilities including inbound / outbound queue management, call campaigns, bank initiatives, and intense client follow-up.
- Knowledge of consumer lending laws and regulations, including fair lending, privacy, RESPA, and TRID.
- Obtain documents to satisfy underwriting conditions and negotiate pricing as necessary.
- Provide feedback on client experience enhancements and process efficiencies.
- Complete all assigned training in a timely manner.
Qualifications
4-8 years of relevant mortgage experience (Sales and / or Operations preferred)Experience in client relationship management rolesEstablished track record of developing and maintaining client relationships in a sales or operational settingProven track record of meeting loan production goals while maintaining a large client baseHigh school diploma or equivalentWealth Management / Private Banking experience preferredEligible for employment with an FDIC-insured institution and able to register with NMLS as a mortgage loan originatorSkills / Abilities
Extensive knowledge of mortgage products and client service experienceIn-depth knowledge of compliance regulations and laws governing consumer mortgage lending, including fair lending, privacy, RESPA, and TRIDStrong written and verbal communication and interpersonal skillsSelf-starter with a strong sense of ownership; ability to manage time, prioritize and plan accordinglyProficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint) and reporting / tracking systemsAim to achieve high levels of client and Financial Advisor satisfactionAbility to proactively manage loan escalations to ensure timely resolutions and enhanced client experienceWhat You Can Expect From Morgan Stanley
