Scope :
The Weigh-Up Operator is responsible for accurately weighing, labeling, and staging raw materials required for production. This individual supports material availability and inventory accuracy while ensuring all handling follows food safety, quality, and allergen control standards. The Weigh-Up Operator maintains an organized and efficient work environment within the weigh-up room and rack locations.
Essential Duties and Key Responsibilities :
Promotes safety and conducts him / herself in accordance with all safety guidelines at all timesAccurately weighs and stages raw materials for production based on batch card instructionsVerifies materials match specifications (SKU, lot number, description, and quantity)Clearly labels all materials with required information to ensure traceabilityPerforms system transactions including bin transfers, and material returnsFollows proper handling procedures for partial containers and return-to-inventory materialsMaintains clean, organized weigh-up stations and designated rack locations using 5S principlesFollows all allergen handling, GMP, SQF, and HACCP protocols without deviationCommunicates material discrepancies or damaged items to the Warehouse Supervisor promptlyOperates floor and bench scales, pallet jacks, RF scanners, and other tools as requiredParticipates in internal audits, walkthroughs, and ongoing room improvement effortsAll other duties as assignedQualifications :
High School Diploma or equivalentAbility to understand and follow oral and written instructions in EnglishStrong attention to detail and accuracy in labeling, weighing, and tracking materialsExperience in warehouse, production, or food manufacturing environments preferredFamiliarity with warehouse scanning tools or WMS systems is a plusStrong communication and time management skillsAbility to work independently and within a teamWillingness to adapt in a fast-paced environment and follow set proceduresPhysical Demands :
Must be able to perform the physical functions of climbing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, grasping, talking, hearing, and repetitive motionsMust be able to lift up to 50 poundsExtended standing and walking required throughout the shiftMust be able to work extended hours, including daily overtime and occasional weekendsMust possess visual acuity to verify labels, lot numbers, and documentation#IND2
