Responsibilities

  • Daily operational and database administration activities for DB2 for z / OS, SQL Server, Oracle, and GIS.
  • Plan, design, and support database structures.
  • Conduct database performance monitoring and tuning.
  • Develop and maintain database administration procedures and documentation.
  • Perform SQL code reviews.
  • Assist with training / mentoring other technical staff. May perform other database or infrastructure activities as requested.

Qualifications and Knowledge (KSAs)

  • Education : Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field, or equivalent work experience.
  • Experience : 15 years combined experience in database administration for the following platforms : DB2 for z / OS; SQL Server 2008R2, 2012; Oracle 10g and above.
  • Advanced knowledge of DB2 for z / OS application integration, performance management, and database administration.
  • Advanced knowledge of upgrading DB2 for z / OS, catalog maintenance, and point-in-time recovery.
  • Advanced / In-depth knowledge of JCL, z / OS platform, CA GEN, ISPF, ASG Scheduler, COBOL, and related DB2 tools.
  • Solid working knowledge of z / OS started task creation / management, IBI z / OS service support, AFOPER commands, RACF, CICS, IOF.
  • Solid working knowledge of Disaster Recovery requirements; Oracle and MSSQL application integration, performance management, and administration.
  • Working knowledge of infrastructure change management verification testing techniques, z / OS exits, BJS, Windows Servers, SSMS / SSRS / SSIS, and Azure.
