Job Objective / Summary : The Emergency Department Director is directly responsible for supervision of the nursing unit and provision of patient care. Duties include : development of technical policies, execution of technical procedures, technical supervision of personnel, supervise the care and maintenance of equipment, implementation of infection prevention and quality control measures, participate in the facility performance improvement program, compliance with national and local safety standards, maintenance of administrative records, participation in education programs, and participation in personnel functions (hiring, counseling, evaluating, and terminating) within the department.

Job Education, Licenses / Certifications, Knowledge & Experience : Must hold a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN), Must hold a valid and active license in good standing as an RN in the state of Arkansas. At least one year of supervisory experience. Must be ACLS, PALS, NIHSS, and CPR certified. Strong knowledge of nursing principles, practices, and procedures. Compassionate, patient-centered approach.
