As a Quality Control Engineer, you will play a critical role in ensuring that our products meet the highest standards of safety, strength, and reliability. The Quality Control Engineer conducts laboratory testing to ensure materials and products meet design criteria and quality standards. This role supports quality assurance audits, organizes and analyzes data, and collaborates with management to resolve quality, production, and efficiency issues.
Responsibilities
- Complete tasks assigned by the QC Manager
- Ensure that all production practices adhere to the Quality System Manual (QSM)
- Apply knowledge of PCI MNL 116, PCI MNL 117, and ASTM standards
- Perform quality control procedures throughout the production process, including :
Pre-pour inspection
Stripping inspection
Post-pour inspection
Finish and patching inspection
Communicate with Design Engineers and Production to address drafting or design revisionsShare necessary information between QC and batch plant personnel regarding mix adjustments and moisture levelsAssist QC inspectors with drafting or design-related issuesCollect, organize, and track defect data and concrete performance reportsReview and enforce quality control procedures to ensure optimum product quality in areas such as setup, reinforcement fabrication, and finishingConduct panel inventory auditsSupport the optimization and development of concrete mix designsFabricate concrete samples for project submittalsManage calibrations for testing and production equipmentGenerate reports and submittals for active projectsDevelop new testing procedures and support equipment improvementsQualifications
Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related fieldConcrete-related experience preferredACI certification to be completed within the first 6 months of employmentStrong leadership skillsMaterial testing and laboratory experience preferredStrong computer skills with proficiency in Microsoft Office and ExcelSolid mathematical aptitudeAbility to read and interpret construction documents and technical journals preferredAbility to manage multiple projects simultaneouslyStrong work ethic with sound decision-making skillsPhysical Requirements
Must be able to start work at 3am.
