This position is responsible for assisting in the operation of the department. An individual in this position will be expected to perform additional job-related responsibilities and duties throughout the facility as assigned and or as necessary. The Assistant Project Manager will oversee construction projects and act as the link between various project parties. The Assistant PM will lead and manage the on-site construction installation team and oversee all work on site. Will be responsible for orderliness on-site to ensure compliance and safety regulations, that all quality standards are being met, and all equipment and materials are received and available. This project is located in Sterling, VA.
Essential Functions : An individual must be able to successfully perform the essential functions of this position with or without a reasonable accommodation.
- Lead and Manage the on-site construction installation team.
- Ensure compliance with Safety, health, and quality standards.
- Collaborate with engineers, subcontractors, etc. to determine project needs.
- Set performance goals and deadlines.
- Coordinate and oversee all work on site.
- Review the project schedule and budget to ensure on time delivery and under budget.
- Attend coordination and progress meetings.
- Track of project progress.
- Ensure quality standards are met.
- Place orders or release the call for orders down for material and equipment.
- Review records such as field reports Request for Information (RFI’s), change proposals and change orders.
- Maintain OSHA 30 Certification.
- Support a performance-based culture, both team and individual, to assure continuous improvement and alignment with enterprise vision, mission and objectives.
- Ensure regulatory compliance across a range of federal, state, and local agencies.
- Ensure that all quality and safety standards, specifications and policies are met, drive continuous improvements and collaborate with the team to drive efficiencies.
Requirements
3-5 years relevant work experience with provides the requisite knowledge, skills and abilities for the job. Construction experience is required.Equivalent experience, vocational school, or an Associate degree in electronics, mechanical systems, computer technology, air conditioning or similar field is preferred.Ability to interpret and build according to drawings, specification, control drawings and other documents.Proficient with taking and uploading digital photographs.Proficient in MS Office, Word and Excel, to include Bluebeam.Professional client-facing and internal communication skills both written and verbal.First-Rate interpersonal skills.Prior experience leading, coaching, and mentoring others.Prior experience supporting construction and field employee groups, including strong problem-solving skills, critical thinking, and self-initiative.Commitment to “open door” and comfort with production floor presence and contact with all field employees.Excellent written and verbal communication, interpersonal skills; high quality document and report preparation.Experience working in an entrepreneurial environment requiring strong multi-tasking abilities.Pay Rate : $33 / hr.-$45 / hr. DOE.
