Role Overview
The role is accountable for IFCO's NAM Health & Safety program development, execution, and compliance.
Responsibilities
- Enables a culture of workforce behaviors directed towards safety, health, incident and accident prevention, regulatory compliance, environmental management, and performance outcomes.
- Ensures compliance with applicable government regulations and internal standards and values.
- Supports Health & Safety in the Service Centers and IFCO offices, driving prioritization of regulatory compliance, continuous performance improvement, and integration of Health and Safety performance objectives into standard work processes.
- Models a strong compliance mindset, supports the development and implementation of strategies to achieve Health and Safety objectives in alignment with the company's business goals and values.
- Supports the initiation and development of new and innovative programs to motivate the workforce to participate and engage in Health and Safety.
- Acts as the point of contact for all incident investigations in NA and ensures information is shared with stakeholders in a timely manner.
- Identifies gaps when present, performs the necessary risk analyses, and ensures that an action plan is both developed and executed on time.
- Highlights shortcomings that are not being properly addressed or are persistent issues, continuously, up to the level necessary until they are resolved.
- Reports regularly on health and safety awareness, issues, and statistics.
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in health sciences, safety engineering, environmental engineering, or related field.Minimum of 8 years with at least 5 years in a multi-national organization.Must have sound knowledge of North American environmental, health, and safety regulatory and statutory requirements, including ISO certifications (ISO 45001).Experience in OSHA, NFPA, CCOHS accreditation, and ANSI standards.Good understanding of current technology applications used in HEALTH & SAFETY and a curiosity and willingness to embrace future technologies such as Artificial Intelligence and Deep Learning to improve HEALTH & SAFETY performance further and to enable the next step change in industry safety.Good to have previous experience in logistics, manufacturing, and construction working environments.Data analyticsAutomation and machinery safety experienceIncident investigationExercises vision and sound judgmentMust be willing to tackle tough issues with tact and diplomacy in a timely fashion.Readily and actively contributes to the success of the global team.Ability to act as a change agent through interactions with othersWillingness to travel NA-wideCandidate must be located in one of these cities : Dallas, San Antonio, Indianapolis, or McDonough.
